Απέκτησε πτυχίο Ιατρικής από το Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών, το έτος 1984 και την ειδικότητα της Ψυχιατρικής, 1993. Είναι διδάκτωρ του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών.
Έχει εκπαιδευθεί στην Γνωσιακή Ψυχοθεραπεία και Συστημική Θεραπεία.
Μετεκπαιδεύθηκε στο Memory and Aging Center του UCSF.
Είναι Επιστημονικά Υπεύθυνος του Κέντρου για τη Τρίτη Ηλικία, IASIS (Ευρωπαϊκό πρόγραμμα ‘Υγεία-Πρόνοια’ 2000-06) από το 2008 και ψυχίατρος 2 ξενώνων ατόμων με ψυχιατρικές διαταραχές.
Επίσης υπεύθυνος του Ιατρείου Διαταραχών Μνήμης του Ιατρικού Κέντρου Αθηνών και ιδιώτης ιατρός για πάνω από 25 χρόνια.
Από το 2022 Επιστημονικός Συνεργάτης της Α Παν. Νευρολογικής κλινικής του Αιγινητείου νοσοκομείου Αθηνών.
Έχει δημοσιεύσεις σε επιστημονικά περιοδικά, συμμετάσχει σε ερευνητικά προγράμματα και φαρμακευτικές μελέτες. Έχει συμμετάσχει ως προσκεκλημένος ομιλητής σε διεθνή συνέδρια και διδακτικά προγράμματα.
Τα ερευνητικά του ενδιαφέροντα αφορούν τα νευρο-ψυχιατρικά σύνδρομα, την άνοια, την νοητική και λειτουργική αποκατάσταση αυτών των συνδρόμων.
Είναι μέλος διεθνών επιστημονικών εταιρειών (AAN, ANA, APA) και πρόεδρος της Ελληνικής Εταιρείας Άνοιας.
Curriculum Vitae
John Papatriantafyllou obtained his degree in Medicine from the University of Athens in 1984 and specialty title in Psychiatry in 1993. He obtained his PhD degree from the University of Athens.
He is the Scientific Director of α Day Care Centre for Third Age “IASIS” (European “Health-Welfare 2000-08” operational program) since 2008, the consultant psychiatrist for 2 Hostels for Mental Health in European Rehabilitation Programs. He runs the Memory Clinic at Medical Centre of Athens. He is scientific affiliate to the University Neurological clinic of Aeginition hospital in Athens and he has his private practice for 25 years.
He has published numerous scientific papers, participated in research projects and pharmaceutical trials. He is the invited speaker in international congresses and teaching courses. His research is focused on neuropsychiatry syndromes, dementia, cognitive and functional rehabilitation.
He is member of international scientific associations (AAN, ANA, APA) and the current president of the Hellenic Dementia Society.
